Goodbye

Well, we had a bittersweet beginning to our new year.  Ned's beloved grandmother, Peggy Dunbar, passed away early on January 2nd.  She was 81 years old.

When Mar was a newborn with her great-grandparents.

I have been "in the family" now for about 8 1/2 years and I knew Grandmother for as long.  She always, from my first Dunbar Christmas, treated me like one of her own.  I looked to her as an example of what a legacy can look like.  She raised four wild boys, and enjoyed 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was such a Godly woman and an example for us all.

We gathered to lay her to rest and honor her on Wednesday and Thursday of this past week.  It was amazing to see what this woman had started 60 years ago with her dear husband, Allan.  We all gathered together under the canopy of old trees at the family ranch to honor her.  Many of the family members had a chance to voice their personal memories of Grandmother--it was a beautiful remembrance.

We all know that Peggy is with Jesus, in heaven, watching us and waiting for the day we can embrace again.
It was an honor to be a part of her life.
